ABOUT THIS COFFEE AND PRODUCER
From Cafeimports:
This natural processed coffee comes from the Rwenzori region in Uganda. Coffee from Rwenzori is grown on fertile, volcanic soil. This is a collection of coffee from small-holder producers in the region. The cherries are selectively picked and brought to the processing station on the same day. It is then separated by floatation and put onto drying tables. The coffee is then dried for 21 to 35 days. Once it is ready, the dried cherries are then brought to Kampala for milling and export processing. Coffee is typically harvested here from September to December.
WHY WE SELECTED THIS COFFEE
One of the first coffees we released back in 2020 when we were roasting small batches for friends was a natural-process Uganda. It marked the beginning of what we’ve built since–and now, we’re bringing it back with a more focused profile that has greater depth.
This dark roast centers on pure rich cacao notes, offering a smooth, grounded base. Hints of rum raisin add subtle sweetness and lift, giving the cup a layered but approachable character.
It stands well on its own and pairs easily with milk or cream, making it a versatile, modern take on a dark roast.
