ABOUT THIS COFFEE AND PRODUCER
CGLE17 is a hybrid of Gesha and Caturra.
The coffee cherries are carefully hand-picked at their peak ripeness and immersed in water to undergo a "float" process, which removes lower-quality beans and enhances the coffee's natural sweetness. Each cherry is then prepped for a carefully controlled fermentation, beginning with measuring Brix degrees to ensure ideal sweetness. The fermentation process starts with 18 hours in open tanks to develop intense aromas, followed by a 24-hour aerobic stage after pulping. This meticulous approach results in a coffee with complex and vibrant flavors that captivate with every sip. Dried in mechanical driers at a consistent temperature of 38°C for a precise period of 3 to 5 days, each coffee bean is carefully attended to before being stored in climate-controlled warehouses maintained at 18°C to 19°C. This meticulous process ensures that every bean retains its unique characteristics and freshness, resulting in a coffee with clean, enduring profiles and extraordinary aroma, ready to be enjoyed at its perfect moment.
The quality of our regional coffees is supervised by the community program of Café Granja La Esperanza (CGLE). They transfer knowledge and good production practices to their associated suppliers, guaranteeing cups of 84 points and higher. They can guarantee unique profiles, which can be exclusive according to the requirements of their clients.

WHY WE SELECTED THIS COFFEE
We had a few cupping sessions with exclusively CGLE offerings which had flavor profiles across the whole spectrum however our team universally loved this one due its great terroir forward presentation and exceptional cleanliness. The florals are truly the highlight of this washed coffee with lovely white honeysuckle sweetness. The zippy acidity follows it up square in the orange citrus realm with a smooth almost creamy matcha finish. The varietal is very unique and you can taste some of the parallels to well grown Columbian geshas but with some interesting variances that are really fun to experience. We hope you enjoy it!
