technical details
- Ability to obtain California Food Handlers Certificate
- Must be legally eligible to work in California
- Ability to work minimum hours for: full time (32hrs/week) or part time (12hrs/week)
- Prior barista experience or prior hospitality or retail service experience nice to have
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Understand and explain key concepts of specialty coffee (e.g. coffee processing and varietals), coffee preparation (e.g. different brew methods), and the Moonwake coffee menu, vision, and mission thoroughly
- Operate as front of house to greet customers, provide specific curated recommendations, receive and input customer orders, explain menu and answer questions
- Demonstrate customer and teammate empathy, to proactively address others’ needs
- Think two steps ahead to foresee and/or mitigate customer and team issues, needs, etc.
- Prepare drinks accurately and efficiently according to recipe and process
- Prepare espresso, pull shots, and steam milk
- Carefully and precisely brew pour-over coffees, and present and explain coffees to the customer - demonstrating thorough understanding of coffee brewing, processing, and sensory attributes
- Serve customer drinks to highest level of quality and hospitality
- Maintain clean and organized workstation
