Why we selected this coffee

We selected this coffee for its balance between the sweetness and tartness of pear, ginger, and tangerine — and the unique depth that comes from the subtle lemongrass finish. We continue to be impressed with Galo and Cruz Loma’s expertise in creating beautifully clean and vibrant coffees, and this coffee is another exemplar of this.

Producer Info

This coffee is produced by Ecuador’s COE and Taza Dorada winning producer Galo Morales and his farm Finca Cruz Loma. His farm is located in Pichincha, Ecuador, and has been in operation for 80 years. Galo took over the farm 20 years ago, and runs the farm with his wife Maria and five other employees. In his words, “we are small but with huge hearts and hard-working hands”.

Their dedication to quality and excellence has led them to experiment with altitudes, soil types, and innovative plant care techniques. The resulting (literal) fruits of their labor are excitingly delicious coffees, that have earned top honors at the Taza Dorada, Ecuador’s national coffee quality competition. They have consistently placed Top 3 in the last 3 years (winning 1st in 2021). We are glad to continue our relationship with Galo and Maria, to bring more of their amazing coffees with you.
