Technical details

  • Ability to obtain California Food Handlers Certificate

  • Must be legally eligible to work in California

  • Availability on Sundays to work at Cupertino Farmers’ Market from 8am to 1pm through September 2024

  • Commitment to joining the retail team when cafe opens in Q3 2024 as full time (32hrs/week) or part time (12hrs/week)

Nice to have

  • Prior barista experience

  • Prior hospitality or retail service experience


Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up Farmers’ Market stall on Sundays starting at 8am, and running service through 1pm

  • Understand and be able to explain Moonwake coffee menu, vision, and mission thoroughly

  • Operate as cashier to receive and input customer orders, explain menu and answer questions

  • Connect with customers and provide recommendations and explain company mission, vision

  • Demonstrate customer and teammate empathy, to seek to address others’ needs

  • Think two steps ahead to foresee and/or mitigate customer and team issues, needs, etc.

  • Prepare drinks according to recipe and process

  • Prepare espresso, pull shots, and steam milk

  • Carefully and precisely brew pour-over coffees, and present and explain coffees to the customer - demonstrating thorough understanding of coffee brewing, processing, and sensory attributes

  • Serve customer drinks to highest level of quality and hospitality

  • Maintain clean and organized workstation

  • Eventually transfer these responsibilities and activities to the café roastery
